We will have some vacancies available this year for Grooms and Animal Care Assistants.

The vacancies are seasonal beginning in March and ending when the centre closes at the begining of November. 34 to 42.5 hours over 4/5 days per week.

The roles will involve working as part of an animal husbandry team at a miniature pony stud, which is open to the general public for 7 months of the year.        

You will work closely with the customers and the various animals we keep.

Requirements:

• Knowledge and practical experience working with horses.

• The ability to ride to an intermediate level is preferred but not essential.
• Due to the location of the job, your own transport is preferred.
• All Vacancies will require employees to work as part of a rotational rota which will include weekend work.

Skills:

Good people/customer skills as the role involves working with the general public during the “open season”.

Responsibilities:

• To maintain an awareness of current health and safety and ensure staff and customers are not put at unnecessary risk.

• To carry out daily health checks of the animals and respond to any problems accordingly.

• To carry out daily animal husbandry.
• To work both alone and within a team
